SEEDS OF PEACEKensington, MD - February 13 - March 12, 2008

Warner Memorial Presbyterian Church, 10123 Connecticut Avenue in Kensington, will present its annual Lenten series Wednesday evenings from February 13th through March 12th. This year's series, "Growing The Seeds Of Peace", will focus on God's call for us to serve as peacemakers. Each evening begins with a meal of soup and bread at 6:30, continues with a prayer service at 7:00, and concludes with presentations and discussions from 7:30 - 8:15.

Seeds Of Renewal, will be hosted by Peace Corps volunteer, Shelley Swendiman and DC high school teacher, Paul Massey, both Warner Young Adults. They will share their experiences teaching young people. Seeds of Restoration, on February 27th, will be hosted by Dr. Mark Eakin, Coordinator of NOAA Coral Reef Watch, an effort focused on the monitoring of coral reef ecosystems through satellite observation. He will lead a discussion about ways we can serve as stewards of the earth. Barbara Jaquette, a Licensed Graduate Social Worker with Pastoral Counseling and Care Ministries, will host Seeds Of Reconciliation on March 5th. She will lead a discussion about ways to build better relationships within families.
