State Highway Administration Public Workshop on Intersection Changes near Bethesda Naval Hospital - Thursday, April 2nd

State Highway Administration Public Workshop on Intersection Changes near Bethesda Naval
The Bethesda Naval Hospital is expanding due to the Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) project. To accommodate the increased traffic, the Maryland State Highway Administration is presenting preliminary designs for proposed changes to Connecticut Avenue, Jones Bridge Road, Cedar Lane, Wisconsin Avenue and Old Georgetown Road. Of interest to Kensington residents is the potential widening of each of these roads near four key intersections. The meeting is from 5:30pm to 7:30pm at the Bethesda - Chevy Chase High School Gymnasium. Drawings of the proposed changes will be on display at the meeting and SHA personnel will be available to answer questions and give instructions on how citizens can comment on the proposals. Other pending projects that will add traffic to these same roads and intersections are the Intercounty Connector (ICC) and the planned mixed use development at Chevy Chase Lake.
